Frequently Asked Questions

For families that are new to LBA, we want to get to know you.  Please familiarize yourself with our policies.  The "ballet world" may be a brand new place for you and your family, but we promise you that it is an exciting one that offers lots of new possibilities, friendships, and experiences! If you have any questions, please let us know.

How does registration work?
Please register online for the class you would like to try.  After you try a class we will hold a spot for 24 hours.  If you are interested in completing the registration process just call or email us and we will charge the card on file. If you have any questions, please give us a call at (303) 794-6694.  We are always happy to answer any questions you have.

How does tuition work?
Tuition is automatically charged on the first of the month to the credit or debit card on file.

It said my payment was posted. Does that mean my card was charged?

No.  It means you can see it in the Family Portal but it was NOT charged yet.

What if I decide to dis-enroll from classes?

When joining LBA, all new students during the Academic Year are committing to three months of classes (except in the Adult Division).  After that time period, a student may withdraw at any time by sending us an email.  All withdrawals must be completed 10 days before the month they wish to drop classes.  No withdrawals will be accepted if students have made a commitment to a performance. If dancers have made a commitment to Littleton Youth Ballet, dancers have made a commitment until May 31st and no withdrawals will be accepted.

When does the Academic Year end?
Saturday, May 25th.  But we still don't know when the School Performance will be so please keep this in mind when booking vacations.

Why don't you offer sessions?
We feel that sessions set up the idea that you are done learning something after the session is over.  There is always more to learn in dance and we love to cater to a clientele of families who are in dance to see how far their children can go and to reap the many benefits that studying dance offers.

Can I pay by check or cash? Do I have to enter a credit card?
All tuition is done through automatic payment with a debit or credit card only.

How do I update my debit or credit card?
You can do it on the Family Portal.  You can also call us at (303) 794-6694 or stop by the front desk during business hours.

What do I need to do if my child is going to be absent?
Please call us at (303) 794-6694, send us an email at ballerinalba@gmail.com, send us a message on the Band App, or you may log your absence into the Family Portal BEFORE the class begins.

How do makeup classes work?
You can make up a class for any class that you miss but you need to call us or email us to schedule the makeup. You can make up a class that is the same level or one level below.  Please note that tuition will NEVER be prorated in case of missed classes.

Do you prorate tuition for vacations and absences?
No

Is the dress code mandatory?
Yes. Please follow the dress code guidelines listed in the Family Handbook and on the website.

Is my child required to wear her hair in a bun?
ALL dancers in the Primary Division and higher are required to wear their hair in a classical bun (meaning you must have a hairnet or bun cover securely pinned in.) We will help you in the beginning if you bring your own supplies.

Pre-Ballet Division dancers can wear a bun but are allowed to have a neat ponytail (except Pre-Ballet 3).

What ballet syllabus do you teach?

We teach a ballet syllabus devised by Marcia Dale Weary of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.  It takes all of the best of Vaganova, Cecchetti, and RAD focusing on teaching dancers a clean, clear technique free of all mannerisms.  The CPYB method also teaches turnout properly from a beginning level.  Dancers from CPYB can be found in nearly every major ballet company in the United States.  Our directors participate in an annual teacher's workshop at CPYB every summer. One of our advanced teachers teaches a combination of RAD and Vaganova and another teacher is purely Vaganova.

Our Pre-Ballet Division syllabus is derived from the Royal Academy of Dancing, Leap N' Learn, and CPYB syllabi.
